A Year-Round Sales Calendar for Wooden Boards
Share
Many stores treat wooden boards as a Christmas product. In fact there is an occasion in almost every month. This calendar shows what to put forward and when.
January and February
New year, new cooking habits: everyday cutting boards and care products. For Valentine’s Day, a small serving board for two.
March and April
Easter brunch: serving boards and bread boards. Spring cleaning is the moment for care oil and a board refresh offer.
May and June
Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, on dates that differ by country. The wedding season starts: larger boards, sets and engraving. The first barbecues.
July and August
Barbecue and garden season: large boards with a juice groove, carving boards and serving boards for outdoor tables. In tourist areas, a compact board is a souvenir that lasts.
September
Back to routine: everyday boards and knife and board sets. The harvest and wine season suits cheese boards and wine tables.
October
Plan the Christmas range and place wholesale orders. Start taking engraving and corporate gift orders.
November
Build the gift display, pack sets and prepare the online shop. If you take part in discount days, offer a set or an added care product instead of cutting the price of premium boards.
December
Peak weeks: restock bestsellers, keep ready-packed sets near the till and state the last date for engraved orders.
All year round
Housewarmings, birthdays, weddings and thank-you gifts do not follow a season. Keep one small gift area on the shelf at all times.
How to use the calendar
- Change the styled board on display at least once a quarter
- Plan social media and newsletter topics a month ahead
- Order stock well before each peak and ask your supplier for lead times
