Corporate Gifts: Selling Engraved Boards to Local Businesses
Share
Companies look for gifts that are useful, lasting and personal. An engraved wooden board meets all three, and a local kitchen store is well placed to supply it.
1. Who buys
- Local companies, for employees and clients
- Restaurants, cafés and delicatessens, for their guests or for resale
- Estate agents and builders, as a housewarming gift for buyers
- Wedding and event planners
- Wineries and food producers, as part of a gift box
2. Offer three fixed packages
Business customers decide faster with clear options:
- Basic: a compact board with a logo
- Classic: a mid-size board in a gift box, with a care card
- Premium: an end-grain board or a set, with a logo and the recipient’s name
State a price per piece for typical quantities, for example 10, 25 and 50.
3. Keep the logo discreet
A small engraving in a corner or on the back keeps the board in use for years. A large logo turns it into advertising that stays in a cupboard.
4. Make ordering simple
One page with the packages, the minimum quantity, the lead time, the file format for the logo and a proof for approval before production.
5. Set deadlines
Engraved orders need time. Agree the dates with your supplier and state a clear last order date, especially before Christmas.
6. Find the customers
- A sample with an engraving on your counter, with a small sign
- An email to business customers you already know
- A visit to neighbouring companies with a sample in hand
- Local business networks and associations
7. Follow up
Note who ordered and when. Contact them again early the next autumn, before they start looking.
